The mysterious jungle island of Borneo is home to some of the most extraordinary species on the planet including the most endearing creature of them all, the orang-utan. Remarkably similar to humans, in terms of anatomy, physiology, and behaviour the orang-utan despite being formally protected, continues to be a critically endangered species and could soon become extinct in the wild. Danum Valley, Kinabatangan Wildlife Sanctuary and Sepilok Orang-utan Sanctuary offers the opportunity for those wishing to see them in the last of their natural environment. Off-shore Borneo’s pristine coral-fringed islands are the nesting grounds of Green and Hawksbill Turtles. Between April and October nests are excavated and hatchlings scurry under the moonlight towards to ocean.
