2 > 3 - Botswana - On Horseback through
Tuli
Tuli
Reserve is big-game country and the landscape
has contributed much to Botswana being
heralded as one of Africa’s top
wildlife safari destinations. Our first
taste of African wildlife begins with
a morning game walk and an afternoon game
drive, extending into a night drive. Riding
through the Tuli Reserve on horseback
will no doubt rank as one of your expedition’s
top highlights. Kilometre long stretches of
open veld with its plethora of wildlife
in an untamed wilderness where the lion,
leopard, cheetah, zebra, wildebeest, hippo
and elephant all have a home, will no
doubt leave you astounded at the raw beauty
Africa has to offer.

4 > 5 - Botswana - Quad biking across Makgadikgadi
A
drive to Nata
and checking into our lodge is followed
by the exploration of the Makgadikgadi
Salt Pans. They are an area of immense
and desolate beauty, perfect for watching
the setting sun. The quad bike; a small,
sturdy and very reliable four-wheel vehicle
with limited impact on the sands and the
ecosystems, provides one of the best methods
of crossing these pans. Accompanied by
an expert guide, we drive our quad bikes
in convoy across the salt pans in search
of zebra, springbok and wildebeest and
watch as they are closely pursued by their
predatory followers; lions, cheetahs and
hyenas.
