Uganda - Activity Highlights

As part of our Uganda
itinerary we visit a selection of exciting activities.

Mountain Gorilla Trekking - Bwindi National Park boasts a network of trails and hikes and observing these magnificent beasts up close is likely to be one of the expedition’s highlights. At Bwindi there are five key hikes ranging in duration from thirty minutes to eight hours. Accompanied by gorilla guides, we hike through the dense vegetation to catch a glimpse of these magnificent beasts in their natural habitat.

Trekking the Ruwenzoris - These mystical mountains provide some of the toughest trekking opportunities in East Africa. Over 100 kilometres in length, these snow and glacier-covered mountains are surrounded by one of Uganda’s most impressive national parks, the Kibale Forest National Park. This park is famous for its chimpanzees and is said to be home of the highest density of primates in the world.

Climbing Mount Elgon - Mount Elgon in prehistoric times stood higher than  Mount Kilimanjaro. A variety of vegetation, spectacular scenery coupled with mountain monkeys, elephants, buffalo and antelope, as well as more than 300 different species of birds, will prove this mountain to be one well worth climbing. Ancient cave paintings and hot springs within the crater will make the trek a truly memorable experience.
