Stanley Expedition

In 1871, New York Herald journalist Henry Stanley travelled 1120 kilometres in 236 days before he found David Livingstone on the island of Ujiji.  Upon meeting Livingstone, Stanley uttered his infamous greeting: "Doctor Livingstone, I presume!" Stanley was one of the most effective explorers of his day.

Custom-designed for the discerning traveller who wants to explore beyond the bounds of the traditional safari, the expedition includes some of Africa's greatest highlights.

  • Take a local dhow cruise along the unspoilt Kenyan coral reefs and soak up the sights and sounds of the magnificent East African coast.
  • Witness the great annual wildebeest migration from Tanzania's Serengeti to Kenya's Maasai Mara.
  • Admire the wonders of Zanzibar's Stonetown and relax on the island's beautiful unspoilt beaches.
