Rwanda - Activity Highlights

As part of our Rwanda
itinerary we visit a selection of exciting activities.

Mountain Gorilla Trekking - Accompanied by experienced gorilla trackers you will be able to see five habitauted gorilla families in the afro-montane forest of the Parc National des Volcans, home of the Virunga Volcanoes. Alongside this you will also trek amongst a range of other primate species that inhabit the national park. One of such species is the endangered golden monkey.

Dian Fossey Research Centre - In 1967 Dian moved to Rwanda where she established Karisoke, a research camp in the Parc National des Volcans. During your visit you have the opportunity to climb to the former Karisoke research centre where Dian spent twenty years studying the mountain gorillas. We visit her grave, located next to that of Digit her favourite gorilla.

Rwanda's Waterways - It is Rwanda's rivers and streams that lead to and from Lake Kivu in the far west, Lake Bulera in the north and Lake Muhazi in the east that provide some of the finest adventure thrills. Rwanda's water-based activities tend to extend way beyond the confines of its short strip of the Nile, and focus largely on its lakes. Water skiing, fishing, wind surfing and boat and canoe trips will make the visit a truly memorable experience.
