The Western and Central Interior of the Southern Subcontinent comprises of the neighbouring multiparty republics of Botswana and Namibia, two countries that whilst close in proximity, significantly vary in the overall portrayals of Africa. Namibia, on the one hand, is bordered by coastal desert plains, whilst Botswana is completely landlocked and only occasionally interrupted by pockets of bushveld.
Both countries paid lengthy witness to European colonial dominations, the remainders of which continue to influence their current socio-political environment. The expansive and diverse regions of these two fascinating countries with all of their natural resources, establishes this area as one of the wealthiest and most stunning of the African continent.
