Thomas
Baines, both artist and explorer, first captured
the beauty of Africa and rendered immortal in particular
the baobab tree, an indigenous tree of Botswana, on
canvas in 1862. As a member of Livingstone’s
expedition, his artistically inspired travels prompted
him to document this country with a realism that only
art can truly deliver.
For those who enjoy the wilderness, Botswana is one
of the continent’s top safari destinations.
Visit the Okavango Delta;

Pans; the world's largest natural salt pans and

trees.
