Chiawa
Camp
Chiawa Camp is situated
on the banks of the Zambezi River in the Lower
Zambezi National Park. With the spectacular
Zambezi escarpment as a backdrop, dotted with
ancient baobab trees, the scenery along this
massive river is superb.
The sparkling waters of the Zambezi are a focal
point for the abundant wildlife, including elephant,
hippo, buffalo, zebra, lion, leopard, various
antelope species and a great variety of birds.
Accommodation at Chiawa is in spacious safari
tents set on elevated timber decks. Each tent
has an en-suite shower and w.c and twin or double
beds, insect screens, mosquito nets and solar
powered lighting. The honeymoon suite also boasts
a Victorian bath. The charming thatched lounge
with its upstairs observation deck, bar and
dining area overlooks the Zambezi River. Other
facilities include a plunge pool and a fireside
barbeque area where guests can recount the events
of the day under a starlit sky.
Chiawa offers many exciting land and water safari
activities. Game drives are enjoyed in open
four-wheel drive vehicles and a professional
armed guide accompanies guests on nature walks.
River cruises and canoeing provide a wonderful
opportunity to view game at close quarters,
especially elephant. Anglers will have the opportunity
to experience the thrill of catching the infamous
tiger fish on a catch-and-release basis. |

Kapani is a beautiful
property situated on one of the many oxbow lagoons
in the South Luangwa National Park. It is the
ideal place to spend the first night in Zambia
before moving on to the more rustic Camps.
Accommodation comprises secluded suites and
luxurious lagoon houses. The brick-built chalets
have thatched roofs, spacious living areas,
luxurious interiors and walk-in mosquito nets.
The lagoon houses feature spacious rooms, private
views and elegant furniture.
Kapani is designed for the slower pace of life
and between safaris guests can relax at the
swimming pool or browse through the library.
Meals are enjoyed on the open-air dining platform,
shaded by evergreen foliage and overlooking
the lagoon.
Game viewing facilities are tailored to the
guests in camp at the time, but usually small
parties are driven in the park twice daily in
open vehicles. Night drives with a spotlight
are one of the highlights of the Luangwa Valley.

Kulefu
Tented Camp
The secluded and intimate
Kulefu tented Camp is situated deep in the game-rich
Lower Zambezi National Park in the deep shade
of tall riverine trees.
The Camp has a beautiful riverbank setting and
comprises spacious tented rooms on raised teak
decks, each with twin beds, mosquito nets, en-suite
facilities, solar heated water and a private
veranda. Profoundly peaceful and eco-friendly,
the camp overlooks the legendary Zambezi River.
Broad white sandbanks are inhabited by crocodile,
hippo and sacred ibis. Ancient oxbow lakes provide
a bountiful ecosystem for other resident wildlife.
The Lower Zambezi Park is an extremely remote
area with abundant and varied wildlife, including
elephant, lion, buffalo, leopard, hyena, zebra,
gazelle and many bird species. The park lies
along the northern banks of the Zambezi River
and offers excellent game viewing opportunities.
After sunset the chink of glass and china as
dinner is served is often accompanied by the
nocturnal voices of leopard or a rare fishing
owl. Discover Kulefu’s magnificent wildlife
by boat, canoe, safari vehicle or on foot, and
from the veranda of your own comfortable tent.

Lechwe
Plains Tented Camp
The exotic and beautiful
Lechwe Plains tented Camp is an African fantasy
under canvas. This tented Camp is built onto
teak decking, sheltered under a mature grove
of acacia trees on the edge of the wide Chunga
Lagoon.
Lechwe Plains Camp is a tranquil hideaway far
from the main safari circuits. Each tent has
a private viewing deck, en-suite w.c, shower
and bath, and the beds have a mosquito net.
The camp is situated in the Lochinvar National
Park, a World Heritage Wetland Site.
Activities include game viewing from dug-out
canoes or by open 4x4 safari vehicles. The Camp
also offers guided walks and visits to the nearby
traditional fishing villages.
The Camp is an all year round birdwatcher’s
paradise with over 400 species recorded. In
addition, the park contains approximately 30,000
Kafue lechwe, 2000 blue wildebeest and 700 zebra.
Greater kudu, bushbuck, oribi, hippo, side-striped
jackal, reedbuck and common waterbuck are also
present.

Busanga
Bush Camp
Busanga Bush Camp is situated on the Busanga
flood plain in the northwestern sector of the
Kafue National Park. A unique eco-system, this
flood plain displays typical delta features
for five months of the year and is home to great
numbers of water birds, including black egret,
large flocks of squacco heron and open-billed
storks. Wattled and crowned cranes and numerous
raptors including lanner falcon make this area
their home throughout the year. Lechwe and Puku
live on the plain year round and as it dries,
plains game such as Roan antelope, zebra, wildebeest
and oribi move in. This amazing biomass attracts
predators such as lion, which are seen daily,
cheetah and wild dog which hunt on the rolling
savannah.
Busanga comprises a large mess tent pitched
in a grove of trees, housing a dining room table,
lounge area and a bar. The thatched huts accommodate
guests in rustic comfort. All of the huts have
mosquito nets and are en-suite with dual bucket
showers, hand basin and bush w.c.
Early morning and afternoon game drives which
continue into the evening are enjoyed in open
vehicles and afford excellent opportunities
for lion viewing.
