Lake
Manyara Tree Lodge
Set in the heart of a mahogany forest on the
remote south-western shores of Lake Manyara,
Lake Manyara Tree Lodge is the only Camp in
the small but incredibly diverse Lake Manyara
National Park. The Park nestles at the base
of the Great Rift Valley escarpment and is known
for its great beauty and wealth of wildlife;
excellent for viewing elephant, tree-climbing
lion, impressive herds of buffalo and wonderful
birdlife.
The Lodge's stilted tree-houses nestle in the
boughs of mahogany trees, each with an outdoor
shower, bath and double hand-basins. Intimate
guest areas overlook a forest boma with an interactive
kitchen where wholesome and delicious food is
prepared in wood-fired ovens. The safari shop
features signature community craftwork.
Activities include morning and afternoon game
drives in open 4x4 safari vehicles led by experienced
guides and exceptional bird watching –
the area has over 400 species. Picnic lunches
and romantic sundowners can be enjoyed on the
lakeshore. |

Ngorongoro
Crater Lodge
Perched on the edge of
the Ngorongoro Crater at the eastern edge of
the Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater Lodge is without
doubt one of the most architecturally spectacular
Lodges in Africa. The crater is a World Heritage
Site and shelters one of the most beautiful
wildlife havens on earth.
Inspired in design by the Maasai mud-and-stick
manyatta, the Lodge comprises three separate
and intimate camps, North Camp, South Camp and
Tree Camp. The sumptuous suites are steeped
in romance reminiscent of a bygone era, with
stilted, handcrafted structures adorned in graceful
antiques, grand chandeliers and pan-African
treasures. All of this, however, remains subordinate
to the magnificence of the verdant crater views
through the window of every room. Each suite
is discreetly tended by a personal butler, who
will bring you tea in bed, stoke your fireplace
and even draw your bath, ready for your return
from your Safari and lavish picnic on the crater
floor.
Guest areas include elegant sitting and dining
areas, outdoor dining areas, viewing decks and
a superb craft gallery, all with awe-inspiring
views of the crater below. Activities include
a daily game drive in closed game-viewing vehicles
to the crater floor and walks along the crater
rim.

Fundu
Lagoon
Only 32 kilometres off
the mainland of Tanzania, in crystal-clear turquoise
waters, is the secretive island of Pemba. Fundu
Lagoon is situated on the south-western coast
of Pemba Island and is only accessible by boat.
It is nestled into the secluded, untouched coastline
of the Wambaa Peninsula and boasts one kilometre
of private, white sandy beach.
The designer tents are set under makuti roofs
on wooden decks. Each has an
en-suite shower, toilet and basin with standing
fans, desk and wardrobe. A number of the tents
are situated along the beachfront and the remaining
on the hillside, all with superb views of the
bay. One of the units is a beach suite with
its own private deck and plunge pool.
Snorkelling trips to Mesali Island, dhow sunset
cruises and canoe safaris are available. Pemba
is listed as one of the top diving locations
in the world and Fundu has a fully equipped
dive centre and a fully rigged deep-sea fishing
boat. Additional activities include scuba diving,
waterskiing and wakeboarding.

Grumeti
River Camp
A splendid tented Camp
set in the remote western corridor of the Serengeti
National Park, Grumeti River Camp offers a comfortable,
contemporary haven from which to experience
the truly wild pulse of Africa. Boasting abundant
resident game year round, the camp overlooks
the Grumeti River where wildebeest plunge through
the waters, running the gauntlet of gigantic
crocodiles, on their annual Migration during
June and July.
Spacious tents under thatch, set along the banks
of the river and its hippo pools, each have
a viewing deck and en-suite bathroom with hand-basin,
w.c and a shower. Furnished with vibrant décor,
the accommodation brings alive the excitement
and romance of Africa. An open-fronted dining
area, sitting area and domed bar, all in colourful
décor with unusual antique artefacts, make up
the main guest area. There is a plunge pool
on the banks of the river and a spacious deck
from which to enjoy sundowners whilst watching
hippo in the pools.
A special feature is the sheltered boma where
star-studded, romantic dinners are served. Twice
daily game drives in 4x4 safari vehicles explore
savannah and woodlands boasting the largest
mass of free-ranging game on earth.

Klein's
Camp
Klein’s Camp is
set in an exclusive private concession deep
in the heart of Maasai territory, neighbouring
the buffalo-rich Serengeti National Park, famed
for the Great Migration of millions of wildebeest
and zebra.
Hidden among the bush-clad Kuka Hills, Klein’s
Camp comprises luxurious intimate cottages of
local rock and thatch with rich wooden floors
and classic interiors. Each cottage has an en-suite
bathroom with shower, twin hand-basin and w.c,
and a private veranda with breathtaking views
of the valley below. Guest areas include dining

and bush breakfasts at spectacular locations
are a speciality.
